Nicole Fritz
Hello, my name is Nicole and I live in Toronto, Canada with my husband, son and devilish cat. My post-secondary education was in photography, during which time I studied with the great Sally Mann and was a selected participant in the renowned Eddie Adams Workshop.
My favourite period post-graduation was working in a boutique darkroom that catered to fine art and professional photographers. Sadly the shifting photographic landscape saw a decline in the demand for time-honoured yet time-consuming darkroom methods, so as a lover of nature and gardening I decided to go back to school to study landscape design. I worked in the field for many years alongside some amazingly talented designers and landscape architects, and was richly rewarded by the challenge.
However I was still searching. I began taking painting classes to satisfy a longstanding desire to return to the analog art processes of my youth. The fulfillment was immediate and everything pretty much fell into place. I’d found my final act and haven’t looked back since.
